Strategy Just Admitted It's Done Going All-In on Bitcoin
Weeks ago, we told you Strategy sold Bitcoin for the first time since 2022, breaking its "never sell" identity. Now it's official policy, not a one-off: the company says it will keep selling BTC opportunistically to fund its cash reserves, preferred dividends, and buybacks โ and will no longer put 100% of new capital raises into Bitcoin. Michael Saylor confirmed the company has moved to a mixed approach instead.
Duck it โ Strategy's entire stock story for years has been "we're the purest Bitcoin bet you can buy." That pitch just changed, quietly, in a policy update instead of a headline announcement. If you hold this stock specifically because it was 100% Bitcoin, go re-read what you actually own now.
This doesn't mean Strategy is bearish on Bitcoin. It means the "never sell, all in" identity that made the stock famous is officially retired.

A Hardware Wallet Flaw Just Cost Users Over $70 Million
Losses from a firmware flaw in Coldcard Mk3 hardware wallets have now passed $70 million, draining nearly 1,200 wallets according to Galaxy Research and engineers at Block. Coinkite, the maker, is warning that devices running firmware versions 4.0.1 through 5.0.3 may have a seed-generation flaw and is urging affected users to move their funds immediately.
If you or anyone you know uses a Coldcard Mk3, check the firmware version today, not this weekend. This is exactly the kind of thing that's boring right up until it isn't.

Circle Just Picked Up Another State-Level Banking License
Circle secured a limited-purpose trust charter from the New York Department of Financial Services for a new entity, Circle New York Trust. It's a smaller step than the national trust bank approval we told you about a few weeks back โ this one's state-specific โ but it's another brick in the same wall: USDC's issuer keeps quietly getting more regulated, not less.
Small news alone. Stacked with everything else Circle's been collecting, it's a pattern: this company is building the most regulated stablecoin infrastructure in the country, one charter at a time.

Bitcoin Just Had Its Best July in Years. August Has a Bad Habit.
Bitcoin closed July up roughly 11.5%, its third straight green July โ a rare streak. Now comes the part nobody likes talking about: August has been Bitcoin's worst month four years running, averaging close to a 10% decline. BTC enters this month around $63,000-$65,000, sitting right at a technical level that could go either way.
Duck it โ seasonality isn't a prediction, it's a pattern that's failed to hold plenty of times too. Don't sell just because it's August. Don't buy the dip blindly either. Watch the actual price action, not the calendar.
